So it’s pretty important that you know how to back up and restore these files!
There are two ways to go about backing up your .wld file.
The first is to simply copy the file from its location on your hard drive and paste it into a backup folder (I like to keep mine on my desktop). That way, if anything ever happens to the original file, you’ve got a copy safely stored away.
The second method is more complicated, but it’s what I personally use.
It involves using a program called “World Backup Tool”, which allows you to schedule automatic backups of your Terraria worlds. I have mine set to backup my world every day at 3am (you can change the time if you want), and it saves them into a separate folder for me. That way I don’t have to worry about remembering to manually backup my worlds – they’re always being taken care of in the background!
